GenJ West: Power & Principle

So much is happening, so little time! Each day at GenJ West is jam-packed with activities. Whether it’s an uplifting chapel service, participating in any number of recreational activities, engaging in small groups, or diving into the simulation, this GenJ West event promises to keep you on your toes!

Simulation

Designed as an intense foreign policy crisis simulation, the students act as members of the government. They must respond to a variety of developing foreign crisis. The students take on key roles federal government attempting to discern wise and true courses of action. An intense look at power in action, U.S. foreign policy, and wide-ranging issues ranging from United States Military power, the influence of American diplomats, and how choices are made in the halls of power provides students with an opportunity to test their own ideas of how the U.S. should act on the world stage and see the consequences in real time.

Chapel

Each day, the drama of the simulation pauses as staff and students gather for worship and a message from one of our staff speakers during nightly Chapel sessions.

Over the years, Chapel has become the single most highlighted aspect of GenJ activities. Life-changing ministry takes place as students are encouraged and inspired by the truth of God's word and the hope of the Gospel.

Lectures and Speakers

The theme of GenJ West is “Power & Principle” and there will be sessions engaging the ideas of how America fits into the world around us, what principles make for great countries, and how to apply Christian values to complex issues today.

Fun

GenJ West gives you the chance to connect with old friends and make new ones during our packed three-day program. You'll connect over shared interests and causes and develop friendships as you share this exciting experience.

Eligibility and Age

GenJ West is open to any Generation Joshua member between the ages of 14–19.  

Price

The cost for GenJ West is $299.  

Pricing includes transportation from the designated arrival airport to camp and back, lodging, food (8 meals — Monday evening through Saturday morning), access to all activities, and a great time!

Cancellation Policy:

Your registration includes a $100 non-refundable deposit. Of the remaining amount the following applies:    

• If you cancel on or before June 20, you will receive a full refund.
• If you cancel after June 20, you will not receive a refund.

Transportation is provided from the Denver International Airport (DEN) only. For arrivals at the start of camp, the first shuttle arrives at DEN at 9 a.m. on Wednesday and the final shuttle leaves the airport at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday. Any student arriving after 12:00 p.m. will need to pay for his or her own transportation to Colorado Christian University.

For departures at the end of camp, the first shuttle will arrive at DEN at 5:30 a.m. on Saturday and the last will arrive at 12 p.m. There are no exceptions to arrival and departure times.

If a camper is traveling as an unaccompanied minor, there is a $50 fee. Also, they must arrive during our shuttle times, and we must know in advance. Airline policies require GenJ Camp staff to sign paperwork stating that we have picked up the passenger and require us on departure to wait with the passenger at the gate until they have boarded the plane. Thus, the departure must occur prior to 12 p.m. on Saturday so that our staff can return to campus on the last shuttle.

Driving

Registration is 12-2 p.m. on Wednesday. Programming starts at 2 p.m. so participants should plan to arrive earlier to ensure adequate time to settle in.  All campers must depart Saturday before 12 p.m.
