GenJ Alumni: Continue the Mission
In This Page:

While Generation Joshua's mission is made for high schoolers, there are so many opportunities for young adults to engage in this mission after they have aged out of our programs.
We not only welcome your continued involvement, but we need the help of young adults and alumni who care about the next generation! Check out a few of the ways you can stay in touch with GenJ and apply to serve alongside our team as we train and equip the next generation!

“As I look back at how GenJ has influenced me, two lessons stick out. The first lesson was that it’s not about me. GenJ was foundational in teaching me that we succeed not as individuals, but as a community when we are building one another up. However, on the flipside, the second lesson GenJ taught me was that I really can make a difference. As cliché that sounds, it really was life altering to hear from a young age that my voice matters and makes a difference. In a world that disregards the voices of young people, GenJ sticks out as an organization that celebrates the giftings of those who are so often overlooked.”

Why "Silence Dogood"?
Silence Dogood was a pseudonym of young Benjamin Franklin that he used to publish fourteen letters in his brother's newspaper. This historical anecdote exemplifies one of the big ideas we value here at Generation Joshua—that young people have a voice; their voice matters and it matters now.
This newsletter is for Alumni, Parents, and friends of GenJ. Stay up to date on what GenJ is doing, where we are working, and how you can pray for this mission! This monthly email will drop into your inbox with stories from the field, where the values and ideas we believe in meet communities around the nation.
“I have gained so much in the last six or seven years with Generation Joshua. One of the most lasting lessons I’ve learned is the ability to lose well. From losing an iGovern campaign to seeing our SAT candidate fall short a few votes, the GenJ staff helped us face those disappointments with resilience. They showed us that losing isn’t failure—it’s a chance to grow, reflect, and try again.
The wins in life don’t build character the way losses do. I’m so grateful that Generation Joshua fosters an atmosphere not of constant wins, but of character building.”
