GenJ Student Response Team: Helping Communities Devastated by Hurricane Helene.
In the wake of Hurricane Helene, communities in the mountains of North Carolina have been devastated.
HSLDA’s Generation Joshua is mobilizing volunteers to practically assist in recovery and cleanup efforts in the greater Asheville region in partnership with Samaritan’s Purse.
We will assist with the real work of disaster response: Tarping damaged houses, cutting and hauling fallen trees, and mucking out homes that have been filled with dirt and debris.
We have space for a team of 50 volunteers. If you are willing and able to come and work full days of physical labor, please register here.
Because space is limited, we will reach out with final confirmation if we can give you a place on the team. We expect the team to fill up quickly, so please sign up right away if you're available!
Note: This will be a messy, labor-intensive project. The days will be long and likely uncomfortable. You will need rugged work boots that can handle mud and debris, and you will need to be able to perform physical tasks like lifting, standing, hauling, and carrying for several days in a row. This specific opportunity will not be a good fit for those with physical limitations or disabilities.
